If you’re one of the lucky people who is on coronavirus quarantine with your dog, here are a few ideas to keep everyone happy and sane!
Please always follow your local guidelines regarding isolation, quarantining, and social distancing.
1. Keep a Routine

Even if you don’t have to follow a daily routine right now, try to keep your routine for your pup. Take your dog out to go potty, feed them, and play with them as you normally would. Personally, I will let my hooman know when it’s time to eat and time to play, so I am the one who dictates our routine!
2. Go for a Walk

If you’re still allowed to, go outside for a walk. A little fresh air is always good for the soul. Be sure to keep your distance from others though, so no butt sniffing! Try to avoid busy trails and parks since it will be more difficult to keep your distance. When we come across another person on the sidewalk, we will move to the street if it’s not busy, cross the street, or stand in a driving way so they can pass. And give a smile or say “Hi!” Just because we’re social distancing doesn’t mean you can’t still be social from a distance.
3. Interactive Puzzle Toys
I love puzzle toys because there are treats involved! My favorite is the classic Kong toy. I get mine filled with some fat free yogurt and kibble, frozen overnight. This will keep me busy for a while. I also love this Outward Hound Puzzle. There are so many different kinds of toys, just search for “interactive dog toys”.
4. Learn a New Trick

Go on YouTube and learn how to teach your pup a new trick! Roll over, Sit pretty, Play dead…there are so many fun options. And the best part…you’ll get lots of treats while you learn!
5. Turn your pup into a Model

If your pup is like me and will tolerate it, you can dress them up and take some photos. The world needs more fun pictures of dogs right now! Check out my post on taking pictures of your pup!
